Structured Cabling Done Right!
Houston Structured Cabling Contractor and Fiber Optic Network Installations
Low Voltage Wiring Contractor in Houston, Austin, & San Antonio
At Bluebonnet Cameras & Cables, we believe structured cabling is the most important part of any IT infrastructure. A well-designed cabling system is the foundation that keeps every network device—from computers to access points—running smoothly and reliably.
Our installation of structured cabling process begins with careful planning. We identify the best pathways through your building to avoid obstacles and reduce exposure to anything that could cause electromagnetic interference—the arch-enemy of data cabling. Every route is chosen for performance, safety, and long-term accessibility, ensuring your infrastructure is organized, efficient, and built to last.
We also specialize in Server Rack Installation and custom ethernet patch paneling setups. These installations are designed to give IT service departments clear visibility and easy access to every connection point, making troubleshooting and maintenance faster and more efficient. Organized cabling and labeled panels mean less downtime, smoother upgrades, and cleaner data rooms your team can depend on.
That’s why Structured Cabling Installation done right is the best first step toward true connectivity and performance. With Bluebonnet Cameras & Cables, you’re not just getting cables pulled—you’re getting a network foundation built for the future.
IDF Patch Paneling and Server Rack Installation
A well-organized server rack is the heart of a reliable network, and our installations are designed with clarity, accessibility, and future expansion in mind. We build every rack layout for performance and serviceability from day one.
We start by placing the fiber optic patch panel at the very top of the rack, keeping critical connections safe and easy to access without risk of them being covered or tangled. From there, our layout alternates between patch panel and switch, patch panel, patch panel, and another switch, following that clean pattern all the way down. Using a precise half-foot cat6 patch cable gives the rack a uniform, professional appearance — no cables dangling or covering other ports — making it simple for future technicians to service or expand the system.
For small and medium-sized businesses, we prefer using keystone patch panels because they’re flexible and modular. They allow us to remove or replace a single line easily, and make scaling simple as your business grows. Many SMBs don’t start with hundreds of data runs, so by using keystones that can be added as needed, installing a 12 port patch panel or 24 port patch panel becomes faster, cleaner, and tailored to your setup. It’s a smarter, scalable solution that fits whatever the client may need.
We also account for integrated security systems by dedicating PoE (Power over Ethernet) ports toward the bottom of the rack for the NVR and security camera system connections. This design keeps the upper portions of the rack free for network expansion while reserving space below for surveillance growth or additional PoE devices in the future.
And because not every workspace has room for a separate control station, we can also include a Security Camera System with monitor directly into the rack. This compact solution gives you a professional look and convenient real-time viewing without taking up extra space.
Every Server Rack Installation we complete is built for organization, efficiency, and reliability — ensuring your network remains easy to manage and ready to grow as your business does.

Cat6 Ethernet Cable & Fiber Optic Cable
For our cabling services, we believe dependable communication starts with the right materials. That’s why we exclusively use Cat6 shielded cable for all communication lines, ensuring maximum performance and protection against interference. For higher-performance networks, we also install Cat6a cable, giving businesses faster speeds and greater bandwidth capacity for demanding applications.
When it comes to outdoor connections—such as security cameras or exterior access points—we use Cat6 plenum cable and outdoor Cat6 cable rated for temperature changes and weather exposure. These cables maintain signal strength and durability, even in challenging environments.
We also specialize in fiber optic cable installation, including fiber optic cable repair and fiber optic cable splicing services for advanced connectivity and backbone systems.
